Problem

The client owned a plot of land in an awkward position, and she struggled to see its potential. She felt that constructing a single house on the site would be wasteful and ultimately pointless. Unsure of how best to maximize the land’s value, she sought professional guidance to determine a solution that could balance her personal needs with her investment goals.

Solution

When the client engaged Jacob West, we approached the challenge with creativity and strategy. We proposed a twin house design, introducing an innovative twist by rotating the structures sideways instead of the conventional front-facing layout. This maximized the site’s space, natural light, and privacy, while creating two smaller, functional homes on the same land. Both foundations were laid, and the client chose to proceed with building one home first, leaving the second for completion at her own pace.

The project successfully transformed a difficult plot into a smart residential investment. The client now has a modern, bold, and functional home that meets her immediate needs, while also holding space for a second property to generate future rental income.
